Pink Heals Foundation, Inc.
Lisa VingerlingSeveral months after finishing chemo, Lisa Vingerling was bald, puffy, depressed and feeling like a shadow of her former self when she realized that young women needed help healing after the completion of treatments – and Pink Heals Foundation was born. Diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of thirty, Lisa was on a mission to help young survivors reclaim confidence and find a new-normal. Six months later, the organization hosted its first Back in Your Heals event – a Salsa class, appropriately called Kick Up Your Heals. Lisa recalls the moment she realized that PHF was on the right path, “after our first event, a seven-year survivor told me she’d never attended “cancer-related anything” because she didn’t want to dwell on the disease. Then she said she was really glad she gave PHF a chance, because [Kick up Your Heals] wasn’t about cancer. It was about life.” In the years since its inception, the organization has helped many survivors focus on life beyond cancer. Lisa looks forward to the organization’s future and hopes Pink Heals Foundation will continue to inspire young survivors to get back in their heals. She lives in Atlanta and in her spare time, she loves to travel. Her favorite destination is anywhere-in-California.

Emily CochranEmily Cochran became involved with PHF in early 2009, after attending Kick up your Heals. As a twelve-year breast cancer survivor, Emily is quite an expert at living life-after-cancer, and serves as an incredible inspiration to PHF's newer survivors. Originally from Memphis, she has followed her dreams from Aspen to Atlanta, and recently moved to Nashville. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, live music and anything that involves being outside and active. Emily's experience in recruiting, management and event planning make her a natural as part of PHF's leadership team.
